Approximately 35,000 businesses across the UK are thriving with the support of UK Finance’s Invoice Finance and Asset-Based Lending members, who advance over £20bn to UK businesses at any given time, contributing to £120bn in annual funding. In 2023, these products supported a combined business turnover of over £316bn in the UK.

However, the sector and the client businesses it supports face challenges such as rising borrowing costs due to inflation and interest rate hikes, increased credit risk, and issues around poor payment practices, which impact SMEs and the invoice finance sector. Additionally, economic conditions, including the aftermath of Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic, have driven more SMEs to rely on alternative finance options like receivables finance, further highlighting the need for continued innovation and resilience in the industry.

With its new UK Invoice Finance Summit (UKIF25), BCR – in partnership with UK Finance – are stepping up to tackle the SME funding gap, and at the same time looking at ways to grow the UK invoice finance market and mark a pivotal moment for the sector. This initiative will delve into how receivables financiers are leveraging cutting-edge technologies, navigating government initiatives, overcoming legislative hurdles, and ultimately, delivering real value to the UK SME sector in order to attract new clients and increase usage by existing ones. But is it enough to move the market up a gear and if not what else can be done?

This event is essential for bank and independent receivables finance providers, fintechs, and all those engaged in the UK invoice finance space who are eager to grasp the industry’s ever evolving business model and unlock new avenues for growth.

UKIF25 also provides unmissable networking and deal-making opportunities as business executives share real-life case studies and solutions.
