The International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) and the Saudi Export-Import Bank (Saudi EXIM Bank) have signed a US$25m line of financing agreement for Bank Al Habib Limited in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. This financing is designed to facilitate export opportunities of non-oil products for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Saudi Arabia to Pakistan.

India’s invoice discounting platform, TReDS, grew rapidly in 2023 according to figures released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Total bills financed on the platform in 2023 amounted to Rs 1.16 lakh crore representing an increase of 55 per cent for the year as a whole compared with 75,000 crore 2022. What the figures also show is that the rate of growth accelerated especially in the last quarter of 2023.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has commenced cooperation with AIK Banka in Serbia with an inaugural loan of €50m for on-lending to local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). As part of the loan agreement, AIK Banka is set to invest at least 30 per cent of the proceeds in Serbia’s green economy.

YouLend, a global finance platform, has closed a private securitisation deal with JP Morgan as a senior lender and Castlelake, L.P. providing subordinate debt.
