Alex Lawrie Factors, the UK's largest factoring provider, celebrates 40 years of business this week. The company started trading 21 August 1962 in London, moving shortly afterwards to Banbury where its head office is still located.
Alex Lawrie Factors is now part of the Lloyds TSB Group, trading out of 17 sites across the UK, employing 800 staff and with 4,300 clients on its books.
Ted Ettershank, managing director, Alex Lawrie Factors, says: "Factoring is now firmly on the agenda of Britain's SMEs, as they appreciate the tangible benefits of freeing up funds locked in unpaid invoices. Firms come to us for a variety of reasons, but mainly because we can offer a more flexible approach to business finance. We understand the issues facing our clients and work closely with them to help boost their business cashflow."
