Limited company failures deline in July – Experian report


The number of companies failing in the UK continued to decline in July, according to the latest figures released by Experian. During July 2003, company failures fell by 8.8% compared with July 2002. This brings the total so far in 2003 to 10,545, a fall of 4.7 per cent compared with the first seven months of 2002, when 11,064 company failures were recorded.

There were 1,446 limited company failures in July 2003, compared with 1,586 in July 2002. Of the regions London recorded the highest number of failures in July (346) followed by the South East (311).
