Italy’s recourse factoring market boosted by EU-approved loan guarantee scheme

Italy’s recourse factoring sector is set to benefit from a new loan guarantee scheme (LGS) that has been approved by the EU Commission.  The EUR 10bn scheme comes at a politically and economically sensitive time for Italy with a snap Election in September, and will be welcomed by the county’s business community. In addition, it should boost the fortunes of Italy’s recourse factoring market, which has steadily been losing ground to non-recourse factoring during the last decade and which has still not fully recovered from its fall in revenues in 2020.
