IDB Invest, part of the IDB group, is providing another financial support package for Chile’s electrical generators. It is set to purchase a total of USD 1.4bn receivables from Chile’s largest generators, Engie Chile, AES Andes, Colbün and Enel Generaciøn Chile. Two years ago IDB Invest structured a USD 890m package to provide liquidity to 13 electricity generators in Chile that were subject to a law on tariff stability approved in November 2019.
