FDA statistics for quarter ended September 2002 show decrease in export factoring and invoice discounting


The FDA has released its third quarter statistics. The figures show that export factoring and invoice discounting services have decreased in volume for the year-to-date September 2002 compared with the year-to-date September 2001.

Export factoring volume decreased 1% to Ј692m for Jan-Sept 2002 from Ј699m for the Jan-Sept period in 2001. Export invoice discounting suffered a larger downturn in volume and decreased by 8% to Ј1,893m compared with Ј2,067m for the year-to-September period in the previous year.

However, the results show an increase in export factoring and export invoice discounting in the third quarter for 2002 compared with the third quarter 2001. Export factoring volume increased by 4% to Ј239m compared with Ј230m for the quarter ended September 2001 and export invoice discounting volume increased by 6% to Ј643m from Ј609m for the previous year’s third quarter.
