Banking Council of South Africa - Debtor Financing Committee second AGM – report


The Banking Council of South Africa Debtor Financing Committee (incorporating the old Association of South African Factors and Discounters) held its second Annual General Meeting at the Council’s offices in Sunnyside Ridge, Parktown on 20 October 2004.

Roger Herbert, executive secretary, reported that the Debtor Financing Committee is making good progress in establishing its formal presence through its website, www.banking.org.za/debtorfinancing.

In particular, he drew attention to the industrial Unit Standards that were required in terms of the Skills Development Act. In the member’s section of the site, these Standards are listed with the training material to meet each standard.

He said: “Revitalised training material has also been provided to the Institute of Bankers and their principal service provider, Damlin School of Banking.
