Maurice Benisty
Chief Commercial Officer, Demica

Maurice Benisty joined Demica in October 2017 from Wells Fargo where he was CEO, Commercial Distribution Finance, responsible for a US$2.8bn receivables business with over 12,000 clients across EMEA and APAC. Maurice joined Wells Fargo from GE Capital through the acquisition of the CDF business. At GE he held a number of senior positions including Chief Commercial Officer of GE Capital International and Head of Origination for the EMEA Leveraged Finance Business. Prior to GE, Maurice worked as a senior investment banker at Lehman Brothers, Bankers Trust and Paribas.

John Bugeja
Managing Director, Trade Advisory Network

John Bugeja is a highly experienced trade, supply chain and invoice finance specialist with more than 40 years’ experience in senior leadership roles with HSBC, NatWest, RBS, Barclays and Lloyds Banking Group. John is now Managing Director of Trade Advisory Network Limited, a trade, supply chain and invoice finance advisory network, delivering product development and innovation, operating model design and implementation, training and education and deal structuring and placement solutions to banks, alternative finance providers, fintechs, technology service providers and corporates. John is often called upon to act as expert witness when trade and supply chain finance related disputes go to tribunal or court. Key areas of expertise include origination, risk and governance, product management and development, business development, organisation design, change management, process facilitation, training and management development. John is passionate about promoting the development of supply chain finance in all its forms and was a member of the drafting group that wrote the ICC rules for Uniform Rules for Digital Trade Transactions (URDTT). John is also co-author of LIBF’s Certificate in Supply Chain Finance, FCI’s Supply Chain Finance online learning module and the  ICC Academy’s Advanced Supply Chain Finance online course, a core module of their CTCP programme.

Dr. Eugenio Cavenaghi
MD, Head of Working Capital Advisory and Structured Trade, Europe, Banco Santander

Eugenio is responsible at Santander for the advisory of corporate and investment banking clients in Europe on all topics around the optimisation of working capital. This encompasses the full set of receivables, payables, inventory and structured trade finance products. He was formerly Regional Product Head of Trade and Working Capital for Barclays in Europe. Prior to this, he has also worked as Global Head of Trade Product Development and Sales Facilitation at UniCredit and as Product Manager at Deutsche Bank. Before entering the field of banking, he gathered direct experience in the corporate world working for multinationals like Procter & Gamble and Chicco-Artsana Spa.

Kevin Day
CEO, Lendscape

Kevin is committed to making Lendscape the technology partner of choice for banks and independent funders operating in the invoice finance, factoring, supply chain finance and asset finance markets.He has spent over 30 years at the company, and during this time, he has held positions as Software Developer, Business Analyst, Product Manager, Product Director, Board Member and COO. Kevin’s detailed understanding of the business, deep knowledge of the complex nature of secured lending products and the dynamics of an ever-changing market has given him a measured and unique perspective on technology and finance. He leads Lendscape with a continuous programme of R&D and investment, working closely with its growing client base to ensure simplified SME finance solutions. This focus on investment has enabled significant company growth and Lendscape now employs a global team to support its technology, business development, and customer support initiatives. Bertrand de Comminges
Managing Director, Global Head Trade Finance Investments, Santander Alternative Investments, SGIIC, SAU

A renowned industry expert, Bertrand is currently the lead portfolio manager for the global Trade Finance strategy at Santander Alternatives Investments, SGIIC, SAU, Santander Holdings´ private investments arm. Previously, Bertrand worked for eight years at HSBC wherein his last role he was responsible for the European business development activities for Global Trade and Receivables Finance. Previously, he was HSBC’s Global Product Head of Structured Solutions and Global Head of Solutions Structuring, among other roles. Before HSBC, Bertrand worked at JP Morgan as EMEA Head Structured Trade Advisory and for RBS/ABN Amro, where in his last role he was EMEA Head of Trade. Bertrand is Co-Chair of the International Trade & Forfaiting Association´s ITFIE working group (Trade Finance Investment Ecosystem), whose efforts are targeted to make Trade Finance an investable asset class for institutional investors. Bertrand is also a Subject Matter expert in the ICC’s Global Supply Chain Finance initiative. Bertrand is a Chartered Actuary, has a full-time MBA from the London Business School, and an MSc degree in Economics and Business Sciences from UCM. On the private side, Bertrand is a trustee of educational charities and is a single father of five young children.

Bob Gravestijn
Strategic Ideator and Business Booster, The Value Department

Bob Gravestijn is a digital business model enthusiast and specialises in business model innovation, ecosystems, partnerships and platforms. He is recognised for his expertise on supply chains, working capital, business sustainability management, and web3: the blockchain-based web including cryptocurrencies, NFTs, decentralised finance, and more. At present, Bob works both as a strategic ideator and business booster at The Value Department, and as a business developer for ABN AMRO Bank. In addition, he's a subject matter expert for the Global Supply Chain Finance Forum, has been featured in BCR's World Factoring Yearbook 2022 and has spoken at several events, including WTO's Global Trade and Blockchain Forum, and SCCMP EDGE conference. For Bob, helping others and businesses reaching their full potential is the most rewarding part of his work.

Taiju Hashimoto Taiju Hashimoto
Vice President Japanese Corporate Regional Sales Transaction Banking Office for Asia, MUFG Bank

Mr. Taiju Hashimoto has over 16 years of experience supporting the transaction banking needs of multinational clients in Southeast Asia and Japan. In his current capacity, he is responsible for MUFG’s Japanese corporate portfolio in the Asia Pacific region. Mr Hashimoto is based in Singapore. Prior to joining MUFG, Mr. Hashimoto spent over 5 years with Royal Bank of Scotland in Japan and was an Associate Director in Global Transaction Banking Sales and with an American bank as a Manager. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a university in the USA and a university in Japan.

Daria Johnen
Global Product Head, Supply Chain Finance, Global Trade & Receivable Finance, HSBC

As the Global Product Head for Supply Chain Finance at HSBC, Daria is in charge of all aspects of SCF Products and their delivery across markets. She has particular interest and expertise in technology, including deployment of technology to power the Bank’s SCF business and partnerships with fintechs. Daria joined HSBC from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation in London where she held a senior position in Trade Finance sales, covering Corporate and FI Trade.

Daria holds an MBA from the University of Oxford, UK, a BA in English language and a BSc in Computer Science.

Salman Khan Galindo
Portfolio Manager, Illiquid Alternative Investments, Santander Asset Management

Salman has over 10 years of professional experience having started his banking career at Santander C&IB in 2013, in the Global Trade Finance & Working Capital Solutions team in Madrid. He moved to Santander C&IB UK in 2015 and has progressed through roles in Structured Receivables Finance & Trade Asset Distribution, and more recently Working Capital Advisory being responsible for the origination of Working Capital Solutions within the Mining and Commodities sector. Previous to Santander, Salman worked for QBE Insurance Europe for 3 years in Madrid.

Robert Koopman Dr Robert Koopman
Chief Economist and Director of Economic Research and Statistics Division, World Trade Organization (WTO)

Robert Koopman is Chief Economist and Director of Economic Research and Statistics Division at the World Trade Organization. In this post Bob provides the Secretariat and Member Countries with analysis and information that promotes a deeper understanding of trade and trade policy's role in economic growth and development. Prior to this, he served as the Director of Operations and Chief Operating Officer for the United States International Trade Commission. Bob oversaw the Commission’s trade policy research and negotiation assistance to the President, the U.S. Trade Representative, and Congress; antidumping, countervailing duty, and safeguard; investigations; intellectual property investigations; maintenance and analysis of the Harmonized Tariff System, as well as the agency’s strategic planning and performance measurement initiatives. He previously served as Chief Economist at the USITC, and various leadership positions at the Economic Research Service of USDA. He is also currently a visiting Professor at the Graduate Institute in Geneva.

Merisa Lee Gimpel
Managing Director, Head of Innovation & Trade Transformation, Working Capital, Client Products, Lloyds Bank

Merisa Lee Gimpel is responsible for trade solution development, innovation and customer journey at Lloyds Bank. She has over 14 years of experience in commercial banking, with a focus on product development and improving customer journeys in trade finance and cash management. She runs a portfolio of customer-centric core, incremental and transformational projects, in collaboration with a network of strategic partners, which includes fintechs, banks, consortia and importantly customers. Merisa and her team engage customers along the entire solution development cycle, from understanding their biggest pain points (jobs to be done) through to designing and implementing solutions and ensuring these stay relevant through continuous feedback. She sits on the ITFA Fintech Committee, the ICC UK Banking Committee representing the Sustainable Trade Finance Working Group and the BAFT Innovation Council. Prior to joining Lloyds Bank in 2018, Merisa was most recently Product Head of Supply Chain Finance at Citi for the European, Middle East and African region. Merisa holds certificates in International Treasury Management and International Cash Management from the ACT, as well as a BSc. in Economics from the London School of Economics.

David Loseby
Global CPO, Business Transformation Advisor and Author

David Loseby FCIPS Chartered, is one of the top 50 thought leaders in procurement and change management (Thinkers360), former Group CPO for Rolls Royce plc and Visiting Scholar at University of East Anglia. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and has built a reputation over many years as a change and transformation specialist across many sectors, public, private and equity backed ventures. Currently he is in the process of writing a research paper as part of a PhD in Behavioural Procurement, based on the principles established in decision & social sciences, applied cognitive psychology and behavioural economics. He has spoken at many international events over the years on the subject of procurement, SRM and change management.

Paolo Monaco
Director, Financial Products SME Finance & Development, EBRD

Paolo is Director in the EBRD’s SME Finance & Development group. His main responsibilities include new product approvals, fundraising, operations and compliance functions for operations across more than 30 countries. For the past ten years at the EBRD, Paolo has focused on a number of new product launches, including, amongst others, supply chain financing and advisory, social impact bonds, and digital advisory. Prior to joining the EBRD, Paolo worked in the hedge fund, private equity and investment banking industry, focusing mostly on acquisitions and disposals.

Deepesh Patel
Editorial Director, Trade Finance Global

Deepesh Patel is Editorial Director at Trade Finance Global (TFG). In this role, Deepesh leads efforts in developing TFG's brand, relationships and strategic direction in key markets, including the UK, US, Singapore, Dubai and Hong Kong.

Deepesh regularly chairs and speaks at international industry events with the WTO, BCR, Excred, TXF, The Economist and Reuters, as well as industry associations including ICC, FCI, ITFA and BAFT.

Deepesh is the host of the ‘Trade Finance Talks’ podcast and ‘Trade Finance Talks TV’. He is co-author of ‘Blockchain for Trade: A Reality Check’ with the ICC and the WTO, alongside other industry research.

In addition to his work at TFG, Deepesh is a Strategic Advisor for WOA, and a Board Member of ITFA's Emerging Leaders Committee. He also sits on the Fintech Working Group of the Standardised Trust.

Prior to TFG, Deepesh worked at Travelex where he was responsible for the cards business and the Travelex Money app in Europe, NAM, UK and Brazil. Deepesh is a co-opted Local Authority Governor of the Wyvern Federation, which has responsibility for 5 primary schools in South London

Martin Schlageter
Head of Treasury Operations, Roche

M. Schlageter joined the German entity of the Roche Group as Head of Treasury in 1993. In 1998 he became European Head of Cash & Credit Management in Switzerland for the Vitamins Division where he built up a Shared Service Centre in this area. After the divestment of the Vitamins Division in 2004 he joined Roche’s Group Treasury as Head of Treasury Operations implementing & running Roche’s In-house bank. Before joining Roche he worked several years in foreign exchange trading in Frankfurt, Singapore and Paris. M. Schlageter holds a degree of the University of Applied Sciences, Rendsburg (Germany).

Sibel Sirmagul Sibel Sirmagul
CFA, Regional Head of Product and Propositions, Global Trade and Receivables Finance, Europe, HSBC

Sibel Sirmagul is the European Head of Product and Propositions for HSBC’s Global Trade and Receivables Finance business driving the digital trade, working capital and structured trade finance growth strategy. Sibel works closely with clients to identify, develop and structure solutions providing risk mitigation and liquidity. She started her career with ABN AMRO Bank in 2000, holding senior structured lending positions across various regions; Europe, Middle East and North America. In 2010, following the acquisition by RBS, she joined the Structured Trade Advisory team where she successfully led the structuring of Supply Chain Finance, RF and Trade lending structures throughout Europe and the Middle East. Sibel holds an MBA from London Business School and is a CFA® Charterholder.

Laurent Tabouelle
Managing Director, CODIX Group

Laurent is Managing Director of CODIX Group, an international commercial finance software provider, editor and integrator of the iMX solution. The technology supports all aspects of corporate/commercial finance, including PO finance, factoring, international/two-factors, reverse, classical, invoice discounting, asset-based lending, supply chain and inventory finance, leasing, as well as sophisticated debt collection capabilities. With a staff of 880+ business and technical experts located in 16 countries, CODIX delivers its iMX solution worldwide to clients of various sizes from SMEs to international groups, and always with a comprehensive suite of services, including system customisation, on-site training and assistance, as well as expert-level business recommendations and project management. Oliver Triebsees
Senior Manager - Corporate Finance, GEA Group

Oliver Triebsees is Senior Manager Corporate Finance at GEA Group Aktiengesellschaft, one of the largest systems suppliers for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical sectors and listed on the German MDAX. He joined GEA in November 2018 and is responsible for all aspects of working capital management and corporate financing as well as projects in the Corporate Finance area.

Before joining GEA, he worked from 2011 to 2018 at Deutsche Bank AG in different positions of corporate banking in Cologne and Frankfurt.

He holds a Master of Science degree in Finance & Accounting from FOM University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

Anil Walia
Director, Supply Chain Finance, Deutsche Bank

Anil Walia heads Deutsche Bank’s SCF Payables in EMEA. After completing his Master’s degree in Plasma Physics a few decades ago, Anil took the not-so-obvious career decision in banking. The journey took him through India, the Middle East and finally to Germany. Along the way he has headed sales for trade finance and gained experience at various stages in his career in the south-east Asian, eastern European and European markets. He picked up an MBA in financial management on the way. Anil is an SCF veteran, who got his wings in the fledgling days of SCF in 2000 at JP Morgan. He has been a key contributor to the growth of SCF, as technology and documentation evolved, accompanying the first transactions that took place in Europe. Anil was elected in 2015 to the Who’s Who in Treasury & Cash Management for Supply Chain Finance and in 2018 was one of the key contributors to Deutsche Bank’s Payables Finance, A Guide to Working Capital Optimisation (2nd Edition).

Bryan Walker
Head of Bank Relationships, Previse

Bryan leads relationship management of all bank, non-bank and insurance relationships globally for Previse, a London-based fintech that uses data-driven AI to make supply chain financing decisions. Prior to Previse, Bryan was a Principal at London-based corporate finance firm Dfin, and from 2001-2015 was with Standard Chartered in various corporate banking and trade finance roles in London, New York and Dubai, including Sector Head, International Corporates.

Chris Wohlert
Business Leader, Commercial Distribution Finance, Asia, Wells Fargo & Company

Chris Wohlert is the business leader for the Commercial Distribution Finance platform in Asia for Wells Fargo. In this role, he leads the inventory financing and cross-border factoring business serving multinational manufacturers across a variety of industries in coordination with the Commercial Distribution Finance platforms in Wells Fargo globally.

Chris has decades of experience in the fields of commercial lending, inventory finance, and factoring where he has managed and structured global financing programs across North America, South America, Europe, Middle East/Africa ,and Asia Pacific. He has spent more than 20 years at Wells Fargo Commercial Distribution Finance and its predecessor companies in roles of increasing responsibility in the areas of portfolio management, special assets, business development, and leadership.

Chris is an active member of the Asia Pacific Financial Forum, which is part of the APEC Finance Minister’s Process, where he serves as the leader for secured transaction reform for the Financial Infrastructure Development Network. This was launched in November 2015 as part of the Cebu Action Plan.

Igor Zaks
Co-Founder and Chief Risk Officer, 40Seas

Igor is the Co-Founder and Chief Risk Officer of 40Seas, a fintech platform that digitises and simplifies cross-border trade financing for SMEs around the globe. Igor is a seasoned finance professional, with extensive experience in banking, blue-chip corporates and consulting. Prior to joining the 40Seas founding team, Igor held senior banking roles at Citibank, Daiwa and Eurohypo/Commerzbank, and served as a senior executive at Dell on the financing and risk management teams. He was also a Managing Partner at SCF Capital, where he played a key role in launching one of the first supply chain financing platforms, and is an experienced consultant to many companies in the fintech space. Igor is a frequent speaker at major corporate events and sits on the advisory/editorial boards of TRF News and World of Open Account. Igor holds a Sloan Fellowship MSc with distinction from the London Business School and a Global Professional LLM from the University of Toronto.
