Monthly disbursements indicate the amount of financing provided during a particular month, while assets under management measure the financing assets under the platform’s management at a given point.Together, the figures suggest UpTik has been increasing both the flow of new transactions and its managed financing portfolio. They do not, however, establish the total financing provided during the six-month period or the value of outstanding receivables at individual borrowers.UpTik operates in the invoice-discounting market, where businesses can obtain liquidity against payments due from customers rather than waiting for invoices to reach maturity. This can reduce the cash tied up between supplying goods or services and receiving payment. For companies extending credit to corporate customers, access to finance against eligible invoices can help fund subsequent orders without relying exclusively on unsecured borrowing or shareholders’ capital.Vinod Varma, UpTik’s co-founder and chief executive, said the increase reflected growing participation in invoice financing and demand for alternatives to traditional working-capital funding. The expansion also makes portfolio quality increasingly important. As a platform grows, investors and financing partners need visibility over debtor concentration, payment performance, invoice verification, transaction maturities and how losses are allocated if an underlying customer fails to pay.UpTik has not disclosed equivalent figures for defaults, overdue receivables, average financing tenor or the proportion of transactions covered by recourse arrangements in the latest announcement. The reported growth is notable in percentage terms, although the platform remains relatively small in absolute financing volume. The figures are company-reported and have not been independently audited in the material available. Its next test will be whether the rapid increase in disbursements can be maintained while preserving the quality and performance of the receivables supporting those transactions. #alternative finance#financing volume#fintech#India#invoice discounting#invoice financing#receivables finance#sme finance#UpTik#working capital
