10th Annual Alternative & Receivables Finance Forum 11-10-2024

Christian Hausherr, European Product Head of Supply Chain Finance at Deutsche Bank and Chair of the Global Supply Chain Finance Forum

Though the theoretical concepts of DTSCF are there, it hasn’t fully materialized yet.

In an exclusive interview with Michael Bickers in advance of the upcoming ARF24, Christian Hausherr, European Product Head of Supply Chain Finance at Deutsche Bank and Chair of the Global Supply Chain Finance Forum, shared his insights on the evolving landscape of supply chain finance (SCF), particularly deep-tier supply chain finance (DTSCF). The discussion delved into the readiness of anchor buyers to extend payment promises to smaller suppliers, innovative contract terms, and financial structures that could include non-investment-grade suppliers in SCF programmes.

Christian highlighted the challenges of unilateral blockchain adoption, emphasising that while regulatory frameworks like e-invoicing and central registers are making strides, successful SCF depends on legally accepted solutions and suitable client documentation. He also noted one of the main obstacles: some suppliers may resist revealing their sourcing partners to buyers.
