Mónica Fernandez Barbero

Head of International Factoring, Caixabank

Monica is currently Head of International Factoring at Caixabank. Within her different functions, one of the main ones is to develop international factoring using the Two Factor System through FCI, where they are the first Export Factor of the Chain.

After finishing her studies in Economics and Actuarial Sciences at the University of the Basque Country, Monica started her career in Banking, sector in which she has been working for over 25 years. Monica has worked in different Spanish Banks and in different positions, but always related to Corporate Banking. In the last 5 years her work has focused on developing International Trade Operations and during the last two years specifically developing and promoting international factoring to bring it closer to all types of companies, not just large corporations, specially to bring it closer to SMEs.

During all these years Monica has always been focused on how to provide a better service and improve the customer experience. With the intention of developing herself to the maximum in this field, in 2018 Monica studied a Master’s Degree in Customer at University of La Salle in Madrid and to improve her profile to face the challenges of the digital age, in 2022 she completed the program taught by the IMD digital business school, Business Analytics for Leaders.
