The companies say the total financing cost will be agreed and disclosed in advance, rather than increasing automatically during slower trading periods. That distinction is particularly relevant to businesses with seasonal cash flows.Hotels, restaurants and retailers often need to commit working capital to staffing, inventory and other operating expenses before receiving the revenue generated by those investments.Conventional fixed repayment schedules can create additional liquidity pressure when sales decline. Revenue-linked arrangements can reduce that mismatch by aligning repayments more closely with trading activity, although individual financing terms remain important.YouLend said it has provided funding to more than 400,000 businesses across 10 markets since launching in 2017. That figure represents its wider historical activity, not the number of merchants expected to receive funding through Planet. The companies have not disclosed the amount of capital committed to the partnership, the number of eligible Planet customers, maximum financing limits or an anticipated lending volume.YouLend retains responsibility for funding decisions, pricing and contractual terms. Planet will not act as a lender or provide financial advice under the arrangement. The partnership represents a further expansion of embedded working-capital distribution, in which finance providers use established payments and software platforms to reach businesses at the point where their operational and financial information is already available. Its commercial significance will depend on merchant adoption, approval rates and the volume of funding subsequently deployed across the initial markets. #embedded finance#European SMEs#hospitality finance#Merchant finance#payments#Planet#retail finance#revenue-based finance#SME funding#working capital#YouLend
