HYSEA plans fund to help SMEs market products

The Hyderabad Software Exporters Association (HYSEA) is setting up a fund with support from state governments, non-resident Indians (NRIs) and venture capitalists to help market the products of its small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) members that are working on next-generation technologies.

“The association is working towards creating a sizeable corpus which will help safeguard their interests and protect those SMEs working in niche technologies,” said HYSEA vice-president Anik K Jampala.

Mr Jampala said that SMEs are finding it difficult to compete in the global markets despite having developed innovative products.

“The association has decided to create a fund of a few millions of dollars initially to assist those companies which have good technology and software products to enable them to market these easily,” he said.

The association has not fixed the size of the fund.
