Credit line offered to SARS-affected small tourist firms

The Small Industry Credit Guarantee Corporation (SICGC), in conjunction with the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME Bank), plan to offer credit facilities of up to 4.5 billion baht to SARS-affected tourism businesses within this month. Each small tourism-related business facing liquidity problems as a result of the virus outbreak and the war in Iraq will be eligible to draw up to five million baht.

Applicants are required to be members of one of the country's five main recognised tourism associations, and must agree that they will use the loans for cash flow purposes.
