AIRA Factoring and NEC to launch digital SCF platform

In continuation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between NEC Corporation Thailand (NEC) and AIRA Factoring Public Company Limited (AIRA Factoring) in May 2024, the two organisations have now entered into a strategic partnership to launch a digital supply chain financing (SCF) platform. This collaboration aims to leverage “TASConnect,” a solution developed by SCV Research and Development PTE. LTD., alongside NEC’s digital capabilities, to create robust and efficient SCF programs. The partnership also focuses on client acquisition by targeting specific groups and markets to identify and seize new business opportunities.

Mr. Akarawit Sooksai, CEO of AIRA Factoring, highlighted the critical importance of business loans in supporting SMEs, particularly for their working capital needs. He projected that implementing SCF would enable AIRA Factoring to increase its annual credit disbursement by over 10 per cent, from THB 19bn (US$549m) in 2024 onward. By digitising credit management processes, strengthening supplier relationships, and improving clients’ cash flow management, AIRA Factoring aims to deliver tangible benefits to all stakeholders—sellers, buyers, and the company itself—while sustainably expanding its customer base.

Mr. Akarawit also emphasized AIRA Factoring’s commitment, as a member of the Thai Factoring Association, to supporting Thai SMEs, including new businesses that face challenges accessing loans from traditional financial institutions.

Mr. Ichiro Kurihara, President of NEC Corporation (Thailand), affirmed NEC’s commitment to its strategy as a leading ICT provider while expanding into the digital finance sector. Leveraging its expertise, NEC aims to enhance financial services for partners like AIRA Factoring through efficient and automated digital solutions. Mr. Kurihara remarked that the launch of the digital SCF Platform represents a significant milestone in their partnership.

Aligned with Thailand’s “4.0” strategic focus, AIRA Factoring and NEC Thailand will offer innovative and sustainable technologies to advance the industry towards a value-based economic model.

Given the Thai manufacturing sector’s vital role in the nation’s economy, AIRA Factoring and NEC Thailand have prioritised developing a digital SCF platform. This platform will provide manufacturers with quicker and easier access to funding, contributing to overall economic growth in Thailand.
