On 3-5 July 2002 senior factoring professionals from 18 countries converged on the Czechoslovakian capital of Prague for BCR Publishing’s second Receivables Finance Conference for Europe. The conference, held at the five-star Marriott Hotel, was given the title “Factors in Europe: Survive or Thrive?” BCR offered a full programme which covered issues of current importance to the European receivables-finance industry.
FCI statistics show that Europe is the powerhouse of the world factoring industry. Factored volume accounted for Ђ475 billion of the global figure of Ђ720 billion in 2001. There was also a 14.7% growth in factoring volume in 2001 compared with 2000, which represents over 75% of the total growth achieved by the industry, world-wide, last year.
