The third RFIx Awards took place on 10th March 2020, bringing together international players to celebrate major achievements and recognising industry success in the receivables finance sector as the market continues to grow and prosper.

Winners were carefully selected by a judging panel in an independent process. With twelve awards in total, recognising all companies involved in the receivables finance ecosystem including, banks, non-banks, technology companies, fintechs, consultancies and legal advisors.

The categories for the RFIx Awards 2020 are:

Mrs. Kanayo Awani
Managing Director - Intra-African Trade Initiative - AFREXIMBANK
Mrs. Kanayo Awani is the Managing Director, Intra-African Trade Initiative in Afreximbank. She holds a Master of Public Administration Degree (specializing in International Trade and Finance) from Harvard University (Kennedy School of Government), Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States of America. She also holds the Edward S. Mason Fellowship in Public Policy and Management from the same University. Mrs. Awani has extensive banking experience having worked for Citigroup in Nigeria for about 17 years in various functions, the last being Vice President and Head of Industrial and Commercial Corporates. She joined the African Export Import Bank (Afreximbank) to pursue development finance in 2009 as Assistant Director, Trade Finance and Branches. In her current role as Managing Director, she leads the Bank’s efforts in implementing its Intra-African trade and Industrialisation Strategies. She is also the Chairperson of the Africa Chapter of FCI, a global factoring association.
Daniela Bonzanini
Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee presso FCI
Daniela has a long career background in international trade and factoring and more than 37 years’ experience in international factoring. Her knowledge of the factoring industry has been of great contribution to the development and implementation of new projects mainly focused on innovative products and services. She was International Manager at Factorit for almost twenty years and in 2002 she joined Banca FIS to start the international activity. She is Head of International, responsible for the development of business and international network. She is also directly involved in the management of the bank’s foreign activities as a Member of the Board of IFIS Finance Sp. z.o.o, the daughter company of Banca IFIS in Poland and she coordinates the sale activity in Romania. Since April 2017 she has been Director of India Factoring and Finance Solutions Pvt. Ltd., the JV established in India in 2009. From 2006 until 2015 she has been a Member of the Board of A.I.C.E., Associazione Italiana Commercio Estero in Milano.
She is a speaker at international conferences as well as at FCI Seminars and a lecturer at Universities. After serving Factors Chain International as Chairman of the Education Committee, Member of the Executive Committee and Vice Chairman, she was appointed as Chairman of FCI in June 2013. At the end of the Chairmanship mandate, she has returned to chair the Education Committee. She is also Vice Chairman of FCI Executive Committee.
Jeff Longhurst
An experienced speaker at international conferences on Factoring and Invoice Finance and Asset Based Lending, Jeff is a former chairman and CEO of the Asset Based Finance Association and member of the Executive Committee of the EU Federation for Factoring and Commercial Finance. He has over 40 years of experience in invoice finance - over 20 years as CEO/Managing Director working in clearing bank subsidiaries, specialist asset based lenders and independent invoice finance providers. He has set up and successfully sold his own invoice finance business and currently advises a range of businesses in and around Invoice Finance and Fintech. Jeff has an MA in Law from Trinity Hall, Cambridge and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management.
Robert Parson
Partner, Clyde & Co
Robert heads up law firm Clyde & Co’s trade and commodity finance practice. He has a strong reputation as a trade finance specialist advising across the international trade and commodity, energy and natural resource sectors. Robert focuses on structuring deals and complex cross-border financing arrangements, including structured trade products, receivables and supply chain financings as well as the distribution of trade finance assets.
