Clair SmithHead of Sustainable Trade Solutions, HSBCClair leads Sustainable Trade Solutions Globally at HSBC. An experienced banking professional, Clair has worked in both the UK and New York, supporting multinational clients across the full spectrum of trade finance. She has taken her banking expertise into advancing sustainability across global trade, with a particular focus on helping companies decarbonise their supply chains and build resilience into their operations. In her global role, Clair works with corporates around the world, leveraging HSBC’s scale, reach and trade capabilities to support the transition to a low-carbon economy. Clair also enjoys learning about new industries and collaborating closely with customers and partners to develop creative solutions that help corporates tackle some of the biggest challenges facing their sector. Clair holds a master’s degree in medical Biochemistry from the University of Glasgow, as well as a Master’s in Sustainability and Leadership from the University of Cambridge. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, travelling, and spending time with friends and family.
