asset-based lending factoring Working Capital Canada 02-10-2026Accord cuts bank facility to C$65m as refinancing deadline moves to NovemberAccord Financial has secured another short-term extension of its main credit facility but has agreed to reduce the commitment to C$65m (US$45.7m), giving the commercial finance group one additional month to complete a refinancing central to its balance-sheet restructuring. The Canadian lender said on Friday that the maturity of its bank facility had been moved from 31 October to 30 November 2026. At the same time, the total commitment has fallen from C$70m to C$65m.Accord said the extension provides additional time for refinancing discussions but warned that there is no assurance the facility will be successfully refinanced or extended again. The development is particularly significant because Accord itself provides factoring, asset-based lending, inventory finance, equipment finance and working-capital loans. Its own funding position therefore has a direct bearing on a specialist commercial-finance provider’s capacity and balance-sheet structure. The extension is the latest step in a longer restructuring process rather than an isolated maturity adjustment. Accord has previously amended its outstanding debentures and unsecured demand and term notes, while also disposing of non-core operations as it seeks to restructure its balance sheet. In February, the company completed the sale of its 60% interest in BondIt Media Capital, a move described as part of its plan to divest non-core assets, refinance debt and refocus the business. The latest amendment keeps that refinancing process unresolved while narrowing the committed bank line.Accord has not disclosed the pricing of the extended facility or the terms currently under discussion for a replacement refinancing. The C$65m commitment is equivalent to approximately US$45.7m using the 2 October exchange rate of around US$0.7026 per Canadian dollar. For the commercial-finance market, the important development is therefore not simply the extra month. Accord has bought additional negotiating time, but with a smaller facility and an explicit warning that neither refinancing nor another extension is guaranteed. #Accord Financial#asset based lending#bank facility#commercial finance#factoring#refinancing#restructuring#working capital
