Time Finance strengthens Midlands invoice-finance coverage with Emma Caton hire

Time Finance has appointed Emma Caton as a relationship manager in its Invoice Finance North team, expanding the independent lender’s operational coverage across the Midlands.

Caton brings more than 13 years of invoice and commercial-finance experience. She has previously held relationship and client-management positions at RBS, HSBC, Bibby Financial Services and, most recently, eCapital Commercial Finance.

In her new position, Caton will manage a portfolio of invoice-finance customers, with responsibility for service, retention and risk management. Her location is also intended to increase Time Finance’s geographical reach between its northern operation and businesses across the Midlands.

“I was drawn to this role by the people and team structure as well as the multi-product offering,” Caton said. She added that the ability to provide tailored facilities was important when supporting companies with different financing requirements.

Damien Healey, head of relationship management for the North, said Caton’s experience would benefit customers and provide the company with a broader regional presence.

The appointment comes as Time Finance pursues a three-year growth strategy across invoice finance, asset finance, business loans and multi-product facilities. Its gross lending book reached £250m at the end of May, following 20 consecutive quarters of growth, and the company is targeting more than £300m by May 2028.

Relationship managers play a central role in invoice finance because the facility changes alongside the customer’s sales ledger. In addition to maintaining the commercial relationship, they monitor debtor concentrations, dilution, disputes, collections and compliance with the agreed borrowing structure.

Time Finance’s emphasis on multi-product lending also means relationship teams may need to identify when an invoice-finance customer requires additional support against machinery, stock or other business assets. The company has increasingly presented this combined approach as a way to serve more complex SME funding requirements.
