Manuel Lopez

Partner, Head of International Business, Wenzl Assekuranzmakler GmbH

Manuel is a senior executive with extensive international experience in banking, credit risk and insurance-based risk transfer. He currently serves as Partner and Head of International Business at Wenzl Assekuranzmakler, a leading specialist broker for sophisticated cross-border guarantee solutions. 

He began his career in Germany at Deutsche Bank AG, where he spent nearly 20 years holding senior roles in Trade Finance, Credit Risk, Corporate Banking, and Leasing, working in multiple international locations.  He then joined WestLB AG as Regional Head of Corporate Banking for Italy and Spain, based in Milan. After relocating to London, Manuel led the development of a multi-billion-euro unfunded syndication platform into the specialist insurance markets – establishing himself as an expert in insurance-related risk transfer solutions across asset classes, client segments, and jurisdictions.  

At Marsh, he further advanced the integration of banking and insurance by combining guarantee capacity from both sectors to deliver enhanced solutions for corporate clients. 

Manuel is fluent in four languages, lived and worked in several European countries and is an active contributor to industry associations and finance conferences.
