With nearly three decades of experience across leading banks in the Middle East and Sudan, Khalil Matar is a seasoned banking executive specialising in trade finance, internal auditing, risk management, and auditing sustainability. He has delivered hundreds of professional training sessions globally, some in collaboration with prestigious institutions such as the IFC–World Bank, and holds multiple international certifications in his fields of expertise. Khalil also holds an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, is an alumnus of Columbia Business School, and holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Innovation and Design Thinking. Recognised as LC Person of the Year (2016) by the International Institute of Banking Law & Practice, he continues to contribute thought leadership to the global trade finance and related fields.
