Zoltбn Bodnбr appointed as a new CEO of Eximbank


Zoltбn Bodnбr is the new CEO of state-owned foreign trade financer Hungarian Export-Import Bank Rt (Eximbank).

Istvбn Csillag, the former economy minister, has been appointed president of the bank. Bodnбr, 46, served as president-CEO of National Motorway Rt (NA) from 2002. He will step down as CEO of NA, but retains his position as president.

Prior to that, he worked in finance, holding a series of senior executive positions at the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) and CIB Bank Rt. Meanwhile, Bodnбr acted as a member of the executive and supervisory boards of numerous financial organizations, including the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and Hungary’s Konzumbank Rt.

A law graduate of Eцtvцs Lorбnd University, Bodnбr worked as a full-time lecturer in the financial law department at his alma mater between 1984 and 1990. He gained his first degree in 1983, and a PhD in 1987.
