Merchants agree to repay a proportion of sales as revenue is generated, reducing scheduled cash outflows when trading is slower while increasing repayment when revenues rise. That mechanism is particularly relevant to e-commerce businesses with seasonal inventory cycles. Merchants often have to commit cash to stock before peak trading periods and then wait for the goods to sell before that working capital returns to the business. The companies did not disclose merchant funding limits, pricing, expected origination volumes or how many of comrce’s users are currently eligible for financing. The arrangement is also less deeply embedded than a financing product initiated entirely inside the comrce platform. According to the announcement supplied to BCR, merchants are shown financing opportunities through comrce’s existing communication channels and then contact YouLend to begin the application process. For YouLend, the deal adds another German distribution route. BCR has previously covered its German partnerships with eBay and Tide and broader European arrangements including Worldline. The comrce transaction is nevertheless distinct because it connects financing to an e-commerce software ecosystem spanning order management, accounting, customer communications and inventory management. The commercial test will be how much financing that 24,000-merchant distribution base ultimately generates. No funding-volume target was disclosed. #comrce#e-commerce#embedded finance#Germany#revenue-based finance#sme finance#working capital#YouLend
