World Bank approve $3bn aid for economic growth and WTO accession


The World Bank board have approved an aid strategy for Ukraine in 2004-2007, envisaging loans of up to $3 billion, said the head of the Bank's office in Ukraine.

The aid will help achieve stable economic growth, reduce poverty and support the country in its accession to the World Trade Organization and relations with the European Union.

The World Bank has provided financing for 28 projects in Ukraine totalling $3.5 billion since 1992.
