alternative finance asset-based lending North America 25-09-2026Wingspire closes US$407m WEF 2026-1 equipment ABS after 5x demandWingspire Equipment Finance has closed its US$407.07m WEF 2026-1 asset-backed securitisation, converting a deal that was still at the preliminary-ratings stage last week into completed capital-markets funding after investor demand exceeded five times the transaction size. The securitisation issued six classes of notes and is Wingspire’s largest ABS to date. The senior notes received AAA ratings from Fitch Ratings and Kroll Bond Rating Agency, while Wingspire said the transaction was more than five-times oversubscribed. The closing completes a transaction previously reported while Wingspire was preparing the US$407.07m securitisation, backed by a US$438.18m equipment lease-and-loan pool and then carrying preliminary ratings. The latest announcement moves the deal from proposed issuance to completed funding, with final ratings secured and investor orders exceeding five times the amount offered. The collateral pool had an aggregate securitisation value of approximately US$438.18m at the 31 August cut-off date and consists of 211 equipment lease and loan contracts across 63 obligors. The assets finance equipment used by middle-market and private equity-backed companies.Wingspire has progressively increased the size of its equipment securitisations. Its inaugural ABS raised US$201m in 2024, followed by more than US$292m in 2025. The latest issuance takes the sequence above US$400m for the first time. The company also said it funded US$701.3m of equipment-finance volume during 2025, 66 per cent more than in the previous year. For a specialist equipment lender, recurring securitisation can diversify the funding base and turn contracted lease and loan cash flows into fresh capital-markets liquidity. That can in turn create balance-sheet capacity for further originations, although the precise use of the latest proceeds has not been separately disclosed. The oversubscription provides an additional market signal that was unavailable when the deal was first covered. It indicates investor orders substantially exceeded the notes offered, although it does not by itself disclose the pricing at which the securities cleared.Wingspire’s closing announcement did not provide the final coupon, detailed note maturities or investor identities. #asset backed securities#asset-based finance#Blue Owl#equipment finance#Fitch Ratings#KBRA#securitisation#WEF 2026-1
