Latvia's Unilizings company’s leasing and factoring portfolio has reached 100 million lats (Ђ153.4m) after nine months of this year, rising eight million lats or 8 per cent from the beginning of the year, said deputy director Oskars Lacis.
Unilizings leasing portfolio increased by 9.5 million lats from early in the year to 89.5 million lats at the end of September but the factoring portfolio was down two million lats to 10.5 million lats.
Unilizings turnover from factoring services in nine months of this year was 46.5 million lats.
Lacis said manufacturing and industrial equipment, at 32 per cent, was the second largest leasing category, while passenger cars still remained the most popular leasing subject, accounting for 42 per cent of leasing portfolio at the end of September 2003.
Unilizings is one of the largest leasing companies in Latvia and belongs to Latvijas Unibanka bank from the Scandinavian finance group SEB.
