Slovakia's big three banks will launch on October 1 a credit register aimed at reducing the number of unpaid loans and making more funds available to reliable clients.
Slovenska Sporitelna, VUB and Tatra Banka are also in talks with other banks interested in
joining the register, said VUB spokesperson Silvia Nosalova.
Updated monthly, the register will list hundreds of thousands of clients and their loan repayment history."It should remove bad repayment discipline. Clients with a good loan history will not need to demonstrate their reliability to such a great extent," Nosalova added.
In the works for over a year, the system was supplied by the Czech Republic's Credit Bureau (CCB).
