Four state and private agencies have officially begun a cluster programme to help small and medium-sized enterprises strengthen their competitiveness by pooling resources.
A three-year memorandum was signed yesterday to share strengths under a programme called Thailand SMEs Strengthening Network (TSSN). Participants are the Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan), the SME Bank, the Thai-German Institute and the National Electronics and Computer Technology Centre (Nectec).
Supong Chayutsahakij, the chairman of the Technology Promotion Association, said the programme aimed to complement SMEs' strengths and enhance their competitiveness in the international market. Details of business plans and other shared-resources operations would be ready by May.
However, the four agencies have yet to set lending targets and establish a common fund.
