Swiss offer US$15m investment funding for SME sector

Indian small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have been asked to take advantage of the US$15m investment funding from the Swiss government for the sector in the country.

"A large funding of about US$15m dollar is available for small and medium companies in India to invest from Switzerland," Indian Ambassador in Switzerland P L Goyal said.

The fund for Swiss investments in the Indian SME sector was managed by the Swiss Organization for International Development (SOFI), he said at a CII-SOFI, organised seminar on 'New Business Opportunities in the Indian Biotechnology Sector, in Zurich recently.

Goyal said the fund was likely to increase in the coming years and sought to tap the huge scope for collaboration in the biotechnology sector between the two countries.
