Survey supports European expansion - European entrepreneurship encouraged


Research published today from leading invoice and asset-based financier, Venture Finance PLC, reveals that 40 per cent of businesses believe integration of the ten new Member States to the European Union from 1 May 2004 will be good for UK business.

The European Commission recently launched a framework for entrepreneurial activity in Europe, including working with the Member States to encourage Europeans to set up their own business and to provide greater transparency of funding options.

Commenting on the results Alison Small from Venture Finance said: "Enlargement of the European Union will certainly bring new opportunities for business, however careful consideration needs to be given to cross border trade. Other contracting parties will have different cultures, legal requirements and approaches to business."
