Strengthening growth of new business drives further impressive output growth

Today sees the release of September data from the latest Ulster Bank PMI ® (Purchasing Managers’ Index ®) Report for Northern Ireland. The Report – produced for Ulster Bank by NTC Research – signaled a sixth successive monthly rise in private sector economic output. The significant expansion of private sector output, which was signalled by September’s data, was widely reported to reflect growth of incoming new business (which has followed a similar trend to that of output since the survey began in August 2002).

Expansion of business activity was recorded in Northern Ireland for the sixth successive month in September. Furthermore, the pace of growth continued to accelerate and was the strongest to be recorded in the fourteen-month history of the survey.
