Standard Chartered Bank to finance SME suppliers to the Government


Standard Chartered Bank Botswana will provide upfront financing to SMEs against the Government Purchase Orders. Standard Chartered Bank Botswana on Thursday launched its Government Purchase Order (GPO) Financing, designed for the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Speaking at the launch, Michael Wiegand, Head of Consumer Banking Botswana & Cluster Head Southern Africa, said  “Standard Chartered Bank is committed to supporting SMEs  in their business ventures by giving them upfront financing for any Government  Purchase Orders thus enabling and assisting them to grow.” The Standard Chartered Bank GPO financing offers SMEs financing to enable them buy goods when the SME customer has a government purchase order.
