Small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) acting in industry and services have been on the increase, unlike SMEs dealing in trade, said the representatives of the National Agency for SMEs and Craft Industries (ANIMMC).
The best developed SMEs operate in building, food industry, leather and textiles as well as in corporate services, fields where entrepreneurs managed to act in accordance to European standards, ANIMMC secretary general Bogdan Dumitrache said.
According to ANIMMC representatives, the Romanian programmes devoted to SMEs entail simple procedures but they are deficient insofar as promotion is concerned, while international funding programmes have procedures set by the international financers, which are usually rather difficult to meet.
