SMEs get Phare backup in view of EU accession


The Ministry for European Integration yesterday launched a new programme aimed at improving SMEs’ competitiveness in view of Romania’s EU accession. The programme is funded by the European Union under Phare and benefits from of EUR 3.8M budget.  According to Minister for Integration Anca Boagiu, the general objective of the programme is to improve SMEs’ chances of successfully competing on European markets after accession, namely to increase services providers’ capacity to offer training and consulting services at European standards and to develop national networks and trans-national connections, to establish a simple, high-quality and accessible system of service provision, consulting and training, and to stimulate SME demand for consulting services.
