A flagship funding programme aimed at supporting the expansion of small and medium-sized enterprises has been given the green light to continue.
Launched two years ago, the Assembly Investment Grant initiative is a fast turn-around funding vehicle that backs companies investing in new capital or employing new staff.
It has offered businesses more than 800 grants worth a total of more than Ј26m.
These grants are expected to lever in private sector investment of more than Ј75m, creating or protecting almost 9,000 jobs.
The figures are highlighted in a review of the funding scheme, which as been presented to the Assembly's economic development committee.
Economic Development and Transport Minister Andrew Davies said, "This is an excellent report that reflects the success of the scheme in helping SMEs to invest and its popularity with the business community.
