There are the first signs of a possible revival ahead in the small business sector.
A survey by the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) indicates that while conditions have deteriorated in the three months to August, it has only been slight and not as severe as the previous quarter.
The chamber believes there has been an "important underlying change" in the economic conditions for small business.
It says the deterioration that has been evident for the past year has now, effectively, come to a halt.
