Following the Joint Economic Commission (KEK) meeting in Ankara, Deputy Prime Minister Abdullatif Sener and Slovenian Economy Minister Tea Tapetrin signed the KEK Protocol, an agreement to boost economic cooperation.
Sener said that the legal basis for economic cooperation between the two countries was founded with the signing of the protocol.
Sener said that there were only two Slovenian companies operating in Turkey but no registered Turkish capital in Slovenia. He said he believed that joint investments should be increased in order to make economic cooperation with Slovenia.
Announcing that the protocol founded the legal basis for these investments, Sener stated that his government would support Turkish businessmen investing in this country.
Tapetrin said that Slovenia was fully supporting Turkey's EU membership. She said that they would also work to attract Slovenian businessmen to Turkey very soon.
