Slovak Eximbank supported exports worth SKK 55 billion in 2003


Slovak Eximbank supported Slovak exports worth over SKK55 billion (Ђ1.36bn) in 2003. According to preliminary data, one third of supported exports received support through insurance operations and two thirds through banking operations.

The bank earned a profit of SKK102 million (Ђ2.5m).

Eximbank plans to support Slovak exports at a volume of SKK 60 billion this year. "We have a problem keeping up with the rate at which Slovak exports are increasing, which is now 20 per cent," said Eximbank’s governor Mr. Vaskovic.

In 2002 the bank supported exports worth SKK 53.9 billion, of this, support for banking activities represented SKK 35.4 billion and SKK 18.5 billion was supported through insurance activities.
