Romanian central bank decreases its key interest rate


Romanian central bank decreased its key interest rate by 72 basis points to 15.75 per cent p.a. Central bank reacted to slower pace of inflation.

Inflation in Romania reached the estimated point of 9,4 per cent by the end of this year what presents a substantial decrease compared to year 2003 when inflation rate was 14,1 per cent. Inflation rate on year on year basis slowed down under 9 per cent level.

Central bank confirmed to reach its target inflation rate of 7 per cent by the end of this year.
