Regional businesses in dire need of reform


The 14th International Scientific Conference, entitled “Development Horizons for Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises” (SMEs), was held on 13 April.

The conference, with the participation of the World Bank and the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), aimed to highlight the prospects of Arab SMEs in policy advocacy, institutional reform, and responsible governance.

According to conference Secretary General Moayyez al- Ka'i, opportunity growth challenges, good governance, infrastructure, monitoring, mergers, strategic alliances, investment requirements and the future role of SMEs are the main priorities on the agenda.
