Programme makes it easier for SMEs to get into export


While many business owners regard global trade and export opportunities with excitement and enthusiasm, others are content to concentrate on regional and domestic markets. In the middle are those Australian small- to medium-size enterprises (SMEs) wanting to investigate export opportunities but who do not know how, or where to get started.

There is a unique joint initiative between government and business offering would-be Australian exporters everything they need to make their first overseas sale.

The Federal Government has invested considerable resources in helping Australian industry break into offshore markets, as have industry groups like Australian Business Limited.

One unique joint venture, the TradeStart Programme, a partnership between the government's Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) and Australian Business Limited (ABL), provides a comprehensive guide through the entire process of selling offshore.
