Polish leasing firm EFL reports record increase in leased assets


Poland's leading leasing company Europejski Fundusz Leasingowy (EFL), the local unit of French banking giant Credit Agricole, had a stellar April as it put assets worth PLN 300m (Ђ63m) under lease, boosting the four-month result to PLN 680m (Ђ143m).

According to spokesperson Maja Lidke, April turned out to be a true record month for EFL, with 5,400 leasing contracts signed and closed at PLN 300m for the month. A strong April followed a strong first quarter, as the value of leased assets increased by 22% to PLN 377m as the company signed 8,100 contracts.

In 2003 the company held on to the top position as the market leader with revenues up 11% to PLN 395.8m.
