The Philippine Exporters Confederation (Philexport) will sign agreements this week with three separate entities aimed at helping develop small- and medium-size enterprises (SMEs).
Philexport President Sergio Ortiz-Luis said the agreements are with the Foundation for Filipino Entrepreneurship Inc. (FFEI), the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Department of Labour and Employment (DOLE).
Ortiz-Luis said the first accord would cover the expansion of a unique lending programme for exporters, that requires no collateral, in partnership with the FFEI. The programme has been successfully pioneered in Metro Manila, with the Land Bank and the Foreign Buyers Association of the Philippines (FOBAP), since 1999, he said. "The programme is planned to be expanded to other parts of Luzon and regional centres with large numbers of exporters," he added.
