According to Chanin Yensudchai, managing director of Paolo Medic, operator of the Paolo Memorial Hospital, unlisted Paolo Medic is about to acquire a stake of between 43.4% and 47.6% of the listed finance firm, Siam General Factoring Plc (SGF), and more than 60% of an undisclosed information technology firm.
The acquisition cost of SGF is expected to be around 200 million baht and that of the IT firm 30 million baht.
Paolo Medic is controlled by Wichai Thongtaeng, a lawyer who was on the legal team that helped Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra win his asset-concealment case before the Constitutional Court in 2001.
