Over 200 participants attended the seminar on banking products and services for SMEs


The seminar, "Introduction To Banking Products and Services For SMEs", was organised by the Brunei Association of Banks on 11th of September 2003, to support His Majesty's Government's economic diversification initiatives particularly in supporting the development of SMEs.

The seminar also provided a comprehensive overview of conventional and Islamic commercial facilities and opened a dialogue on understanding the needs of business community and building greater cooperation between banking and the business community.

The 200 participants at the seminar included small- and medium-sized entrepreneurs (SMEs), graduates and professionals comprising lawyers, accountants and managers.

Among the topics presented at the seminar were, 'The Credit Assessment Process' by Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC), and 'Islamic Commercial Products' by Islamic Development Bank Brunei Berhad (IDBB) and Islamic Bank of Brunei Berhad (IBB).
