New HSBC CEO in China


Richard YorkeRichard Yorke, deputy chief executive China Business of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC), has been appointed chief executive China Business. The appointment was approved by the bank board on 26 April 2005 and took effect on 1 May 2005. Richard joined the bank’s China office last year from Hong Kong where he was head of Trade Services Asia-Pacific. With its China head office based in Pudong, Shanghai, HSBC’s network in mainland China currently comprises 10 branches in Beijing, Dalian, Guangzhou, Qingdao, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Tianjin, Wuhan and Xiamen, four sub-branches in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, and two representative offices in Chongqing and Chengdu, both having obtained approval to upgrade into full branch status.
