New head of KPMG Corporate Recovery in the UK


Mick McLoughlin has been appointed UK head of KPMG Corporate Recovery as from 1 October 2003. He takes over the role from Mike Wheeler, who continues as chairman of KPMG’s International Corporate Recovery Group.

Mick McLoughlin joined KPMG in 1979 after gaining a Bachelor of Economics degree from Manchester University. He was made a KPMG partner in 1989 and has been London-based since 1999.

He has worked on a number of complex and well-known insolvency and work-out cases, including most recently the Boo.com liquidation, Independent Energy, and the Albert Fisher receiverships. Over the last three years, he has worked extensively on the power generation sector.

Speaking of his forthcoming role, Mick McLoughlin said: “I am delighted to be taking over a great team of people, with tremendous experience and an excellent knowledge of the market place.
