A new Germany-based company will soon join the local banking sector when it opens the first Mexican office of Deutsche Investitions und Entwicklungsgesellschaft (DEG). DEG will focus on services to small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Winfried Polte, general director of the DEG, said that the decision to become established in Mexico was in response to the great financing need that exists in Mexico and that is not being met, in addition to the financial stability that Mexico is enjoying and the sector's great potential in Mexico.
Polte pointed out that, despite the difficulties DEG has confronted in establishing itself, the company has great confidence in Mexico, adding that German companies already operating in Mexico do not take profit from Mexico but instead reinvest it in the country.
